Bleaching over dyed hair that has been bleached?

I've been bleaching/lightening my hair for a year. It is blond. I went nutz and put semi-permanent pink in (brand: Jazzing) which rinses out progressively each time. However I think the cuticle is pretty open so the color is sticking.

So when I want to go back to blond I"ll get some dye remover. thats easy.

Heres a pic (pretty emo). This is at 6 washings, it used to be deep *******

You can see the black roots. I want to bleach the roots but naturally I will get some bleach on the hair with dye in it. Will there be a reaction? I can test spot but I figure I"d ask. Keep in mind the hair is bleached, then dyed with semi-perm pink, and the problem is the effect of more bleach on it. I just want the roots done but theres no way of not getting it anywhere else. Im bleaching to turn it pink again, altho i might try fire red.

When I bleach I condition well and dont wash for 2 days prior... tnx

Be careful. I'd look it up, you don't want to break your hair off. Though I'm sure it's different with every hair type. My friend bleached hers like 3 times in 2 or something weeks and it's fine. Mine however, would just break off.

My hair is a similar colour (magenta) and I've bleached mine from almost black too. Most of my hair is knackered, to be honest, from where I've bleached out previous dyes prior to the pink, but the top part is fine. Naturally, I overlap when I bleach my roots, but it doesn't do any damage to it. I'm no hairdresser though so it might be different for your hair. I'd wait a bit if I were you before bleaching your roots so it's easier not to re-bleach too much hair. I try to go a month if I can before re-dying it.

lets see..I have some friends that are emo and they mostly wear tight jeans/pants. Also some black, but not too much, it's emo, not goth. Band t-shirts are good. Like Hawthorne Heights. For makeup just some eyeliner. And also put some fake cuts on your wrists. And part your hair to the side so its covering one eye

I have a round face, and I got a short haircut that I guess could be called emo. It was up to my chin. I ended up not liking it and getting clip-on hair extentions. For us round-faced people, short hair doesn't look that great. But if you're set on it, I suggest getting some kind of fringey bangs or something to make it look more awesome. Thats what I did. Manic Panic hairdye should have that colour. You can usually buy it from places like Hot Topic or just a haircare store. Otherwise, you might have to go to the hairstylist to buy some, or have them put the colour in your hair.

But you won't be able to find a permanent dye of it, unfortunately. But they shouldn't cost too much; so you'll just have to use "colour protect" shampoos etc.

Mango is wrong. Crazy colors do come in permanent. Try N'Rage. It bleaches AND dyes at the same time.

It suits you! Maybe try getting layers in your hair - if you like the sound of this, then go ahead. Have it "razored" at the salon and the back is short, so you can ruffle it up and texturize it with wax or styling gel. You'd suit the fringe long and more to one side. Light blonde would look good - even the medium blonde would look nice. I'm not sure if this was what you were asking for, lol!

Get it cut kinda shortish, maybe with a lil layers, and if you are really wild, put some purple or something on the bottom side of your hair so it shows when its in a ponytail...I think that would look so cute! And also would most definitely work with glasses.

Get the 7 year old pony tail look, your part in middle of the head all the way back down the other side. and too big pony tails. Cornrows, tried them? Maybe you can get the red and black dyes in. Red with black ends.

Long hair can often look tired and boring (speaking from experience) :) I had a sweeping fringe put in and it just makes it look a bit tidier!

Also, layers are cool! Lots of layers would look good in your hair, its the right length for them

Well if you're going from blonde to black, it will be very very difficult to go back to blonde without damaging your hair. Make sure you REALLY want that hair color. Plus, black hair makes anyone look pale no matter how tan you are...my friend and I are cosmetology students and we think that you should experiment and color your "underneathe" darker and then gradually get more and more just to see if thats what you really want.

Your hair is too thick for that, i would have your hair stylist put a few layers in it. and use some pomade to play with the texture but that cut is actually intended to make your hair thicker.

Go to a good alternative hairdresser with the picture of the style you want. BE SURE you go to an 'alternative' shop, and not an 'inexpensive hair-cut' place or a regular shop, though ... your hair is not too thick, but it is a bit curly ... and ONLY an alternative hairdresser (a person who 'specializes' in the 'modern hairstyles' for younger people) can do it correctly. It will cost more ... at my hairdresser a haircut STARTS at $33 ... but it will be worth it ... and you will LOVE your new look!

How do you change your style to emo?

My friend Trevor is kind of shy to ask so he told me to. Well his appearance is not that appealing to people. He want to go with the emo fashion because he likes it and he hears that a lot of girls think it is hot. Well, he has curly hair. Should he straighten it or use chemical streghtener? Also he wants to die it black. Is there any advise on what he should use? He also want to know a couple of stores to shop at. He already shops at Hot Topic though. Another thing is that he wants to know what kind of clothes he should wear.

Some girls think this is hott, but a lot of them really don't. Warn him that he might get called gay because of the tight clothing. I would suggest that he keeps shopping at Hot Topic. Tell him to go with tighter pants and tighter shirts. Tell him to load up on studded belts (wear two or three at once) And to wear wrist bands. The emo style also has a lot of piercings (eye brow, lip, ect) As for shoes, go with the chunky skater shoes (Possibly Vanns?) Change the laces to color combinations of red/black, black/green. The hair is pretty much everything when it comes to the emo look.... he should grow it out a bit and let the bangs hang over his eyes. Dye it black. And yeah, he will most likely have to straighten it (especially the bangs hanging over his eyes) unless he wants to just use hair glue/gel and spike it up all crazy. Ok sounds like you got bored of hair cuts and things but just look through mags at the hair dresser, ask the hair dresser what would suit spuare face or just look up on the intrnet in google 'What hair styles suit spuare shaped faces' find one you like and print it take to the hair dresser. I there arnt many you like a hair dresser will always show you a nice one you like just explain what you kinda would like. By the way colour always leave natural colour suits ant type of person better then any other colour other wise why would you have that colour?? let your dye grow out over the holidays, and then enhance your natural its WILL suit you better then any died colour.

Your hair is too thick for that, i would have your hair stylist put a few layers in it. and use some pomade to play with the texture but that cut is actually intended to make your hair thicker.

Go to a good alternative hairdresser with the picture of the style you want. BE SURE you go to an 'alternative' shop, and not an 'inexpensive hair-cut' place or a regular shop, though ... your hair is not too thick, but it is a bit curly ... and ONLY an alternative hairdresser (a person who 'specializes' in the 'modern hairstyles' for younger people) can do it correctly. It will cost more ... at my hairdresser a haircut STARTS at $33 ... but it will be worth it ... and you will LOVE your new look!

okay, now that i was able to see your pic, i don't think the white color is the best idea. i like the dark color you have now. i'm not sure exactly why, but for some reason the white seems like it would be a little masculine-looking on your hairstyle.

Your skin looks a little paler than I expected with your dark eyes (unless it was the flash). If you really want to go white I would say to put a different colour on the ends (like brown / black / pink). As your hair is very dark though I would say good luck in getting it to go white without damaging it. It would be a cute style though.

white hair is nice and fresh and would look awesome on u! but i agree, becasue of you're naturally dark eyes ( not to mention eyebrows) you will need another colour in there aswell - tips would be awesome! pick a colour u like and that will look good with ur entire wardrobe and personal style. dont forget to "re-dye" and get rid of ur regrowths that u r sure to get or else ur hair wont look nice anymore.

thin bangs and short layers. i love the eye makeup that you did in some of the pics becuase in modeling, they really look at your eyes first. you have to skip out on some of the cheek makeup though.

also, you have a nice smile..make sure that you ALWAYS smile while trying out!

In general emo is seen as a negative stereotype and people think it makes them look good to be completely against it. If you discriminate against someone because they are another religion it is seen as completly inappropriate and wrong, but if you do it to an emo it's 'funny'. Don't worry about friends that are fickle, just worry about your real friends that couldn't care less about what you look like and like you for who you are.

Get it cut kinda shortish, maybe with a lil layers, and if you are really wild, put some purple or something on the bottom side of your hair so it shows when its in a ponytail...I think that would look so cute! And also would most definitely work with glasses.

Get the 7 year old pony tail look, your part in middle of the head all the way back down the other side. and too big pony tails. Cornrows, tried them? Maybe you can get the red and black dyes in. Red with black ends.

Okay - well don't ask for an "emo" hair cut. Haha, that would be a little strange for your hair dresser. The pic you have wouldn't be classified as emo, I would say it's "scene."

Your best bet would be to bring in a few pictures of hair cuts you like from different angles. Front, side, and back. Show the cuts to your stylist and make sure you point out the best parts of the cut and really emphasize what you want. If not, you might end up with something you didn't want in the first place - or a mullet.

PS: The girl in that picture most likely has extensions or VERY thick hair. If you have thin hair, you'll probably end up leaving the salon with something resembling a mullet. Unless that's your digs, then I'd go for something a little less drastic or bring the cuts length up to right under your chin or a bit above your shoulders. Keep it shorter in the back to prevent the mullet-effect.
