it was first called spock rock a bunch of people that would wear baggy pants baggy shirts hardcore music and hair like the guy from star treck spock but now its changed a littel and everyone thinks its cool im emo but now theres to much posers

I kno what you mean, like ppl go around saying their emo with a big smile on their face like its fun.I'm emo and I have issues with it...REALLY. My friends say I need 2 see sum1. But like ppl have these "emo makeovers" goin around and i'm thinkin to myself "whaaa....? r u serious it's not even all based on looks!"

emo came out of the DC punk scene with bands like rites of spring and minor threat. The term for emotional punk rock somehow got mixed up with horrible corporate rock somewhere along the way.
