I don't know what path in life to take from here. Help?

It probably sounds stupid, especially considering I'm only 14, but here it goes. I don't know if I want to grow my hair out completely, get more emo hair, or get get the hair that would look the best generally without fitting in a specific category. It would also probably make me look the best and more girls would notice/like me. Overall the hair would end up changing how I dress and present myself to people too. That's the problem. I don't know if I want to present myself as me or what I want to be. It's like my life's running in opposite directions. I'm sure it sounds stupid too get upset over such a trivial thing, but this could define my lifestyle from here. So, it's important to me. Thanks in advance for answers.

I dont think its stupid at all, in fact you are thinking beyond 14.

Occupational Search :

Why dont you do some research in what kind of trade or training you are interested in ? Pick up the class thats a Work Ed. You get hands on experience with what interests you. You could do this each yr you are at high school to find what you really want in your life.

Self Discovery :

first thing to do is analyze your beliefs, values, morals, etc.

Opinions can always change, as does attitudes.

Appearance :

try a trendy barber or hairdresser that will know what the new hairdo's are + what will suit you.

Get some new clothes that you would feel comfortable in, this will change your appearance as well but make sure it feels good on you, + you are not portraying another student. Be unique, be yourself, do + dress what feels comfortable, it will surely help you to find yourself.

Look into doing, seeing new things you wouldn't do otherwise, be more open-minded about things. You would be surprised at how we change our minds about things we really didnt thing was that good. And ended up loving it. An activity - indoor rock climbing, dance lessons, more

You should just shave your head and stop whining. If you think your hair defines you then you need to work on you. It shouldn't matter. You're 14. Do what you want with your hair and it will grow into something different if you don't like it. This is your time to experiment... I say start with a longer style though so if you change it you can cut it more instead of waiting for it to grow.

First of all, hair is just hair.

and second hun i know your 14 and you want to be something in school but there is NO REASON that you should have to change yourself in looks personality nothing to be more accepted. thats not right and your jus going to become unhappy, you may be popular but you wot be being yourself.

and as for your hair you go as long or short and YOU like it, and dont go for the "goth" look if your not goth. and same with everything else just be yourself youll be happier that way.

Don't get me wrong, I am not belittling what you feel is a huge problem. But hair may seem like a big decision right now, but it really is not. Most teens change their hair style as often as they change their socks. That is part of the fun of being a teen. Just consider, what hair style you like the most, that you think will look best on you. Six months from now, there will be new hair styles out, and your hair will grow out. And believe it or not, it will not define your life style for the rest of your life. I grew up in the sixties, when every one were tie dye, bell bottoms, and peace signs. Guys wore very long hair. Those same people are waring their hair short and in some cases, almost bald. Don't worry, just enjoy youth.

Fourteen is a age from where the beginnings of that new chapter in life begins by which one would be learning to make judgements; take decisions; and perform actions accordingly.

It is like arriving at that end of a road from which three new paths originate; each of which is separately and individually soliciting the self with its own style and attractions; for walking the rest of the life with the powers and abilities of its own styles and attractions.

Due to ignorance; lack of knowledge, awareness, consciousness and wisdom; you seem to know that the hair; the styles of hair; and the attractiveness of them selves together with the dressing and the presenting sense of self only are capable of driving others to notice the self.

Although you realise that you are facing problems in making judgements; taking decisions; and in performing actions in accordance to the judgements and decisions made by you.

You however; like all fourteen year olds; due to lack of proper guidance and gaurdianship; fail to recoganise that; YOU YOUR SELF FIRST need to BECOME ABLE IN THE SELF; and that too for helping your own self make wise judgements, take wise decisions and to perform such wise actions wisely; in such wise ways and with such means and methods only that will help your self only in the long run; not only to change the self ; but also to become best; and to attract others towards the self.

I think that although your age and the problem which you face in this age are true and complimenting each other rightly; in the way they are doing in you; but your focus is all wrong; eg; on hair; hair styles; upon girls; and upon actions and activities of them only.

Its is not unless you correct you focus that you will find; either solutions; or peace; or sense and feel of fullfilment and achievements; or new directions in your life.

So instead of having your focus upon all that which is wrong; try to bring it upon that which is right; on gaining learning, adopting and practising such education feild and knowledge area only which can help you take away your freedom to choose and select means and methods of styles and fashions of hair and girls; and which can help you to give to your own self the freedom to choose and select; means and methods of styles and fashions of service, trade, sportsmanship spirit and knowledge spirit only;

Gaining, learning, adopting and practising such education feild and knowledge area which enables and guides you to freely choose and select means and methods of styles and fashions of service,singing, studies; trade, sportsmanship spirit and knowledge spirit only; can truly help you in becoming able; for helping your own self make wise judgements, take wise decisions and to perform wise actions wisely; and not those of either hair or the styles of hair or girls; which is the true goal of life from you.

In all its finality; the reason and purpose of the ability of man to make judgements, take decisions, and to perform actions wisely; with wisdom, education and knowledge; is to again become able; once again; for producing, creating, and constructing that dream of his self, in the hearts of others; for his self; which he can use as his own vihicle to drive, promote and communicate ambitions of self, seek co-operation for fulfiling desires, and for building aspirations in others for motivating and driving them; instead of attracting them towards the self; for fullfilling their needs and requirements of pleasantfullness, satisfaction, happiness, joy, love and compassion from self.
