Granted my interest in music died back in 2001 but its only been 5 years and now look at the crap thats going around! Every so called "rock band" I see looks like a bunch of sissy teenagers crying about how their dads dont love them or the usual "I hate myself I hate society" crap...Who is this Simple Plan mob I keep hearing about? Why is Green Day so crap these days? What the hell is an emo? I see all that black hip hop bullshit is still popular(sigh)...Dont get me wrong music wasnt much better when I was in school but at least we had Faith No More and Pearl Jam...Whats todays scene got? Sooky la la's with poofy hair singing songs about "ooooo I hate america...I hate my parents...Im so into my feelings"....Anyone else feel this way about music and the direction its heading?

Yeah I agree 100%. I'm 21 but nearly all of the music I listen to is from at least 10-15 years ago, usually even older.

I can't think of a single new band from the last 5 years that I would say is very good at all. I can't stand all this emo and fake punk nonsense.

haha yeah, there are just so many different bands and different tastes in music theres always goin to be stuff you don't like and people who criticise what you do like. Peronally i think there are a lot of great new bands around just now (I'm from the UK) and you just need to listen in the right places.

man good music for me was anything under 1998 i like 80s music and early 90s **** like pantera when i got there news that they werent going to be a pantera anymore thats when heavy metal died they were the best metal band of the 90s man now all i see is stupid gay music and it pisses me off man

I am 50 and I am sorry you hate today's music but don't put the blame on us folks who are older than you.We at least had music that meant something back in our younger days.Why don't you listen to it you may be surprised and just might enjoy the music from the 60's,70's,80's and some of the 90's.

Music does seem to have changed a great deal.It seems that if you are on stage jumping up and down screaming something,that seems to be called music.I think you as well as alot of other people are sick of it.Do you buy their recordings?I bet you don't,I don't either.Who would?What have they accomplished if nobody buys the music they produce?That to me maybe be artistic in a way,but sure doesn't please the ear.Now I think music used to be a song that you could understand,maybe something that you could relate to and had a beat,sometimes made you want to sing along.What ever happened to those upbeat songs that made you feel so good,you just wanted to smile,jump up and dance,no matter what your age group.A Good Song made you feel inspired.That is the kind of songs that need to be recorded these days.There is already enough doom and gloom all around us,we don't need to be reminded of it.A Good Song should somewhat carry us away to a better place in our mind.Not to some bottomless pit of agony.I think the new shows on TV will help to discover the talent that is out there in this world and the audience can decide if they like the sound or not.If you watch these shows,you may see something you like.Such as American Idol.I watched INXS all summer long and voted as well.I am sure there is real talent out there,someone just needs to find it and let others in the world hear them.Maybe,if you do not have a career that you like.Searching for new talent could be a side career for you.Ever thought about that?

Actually,it's not the music that's getting"crappy",it's you.

As we get older,our tastes in music change.I tend to gravitate

towards music from the 70's because I was a teenager at that time.I think you'll find most people like the music they grew up with more then the music that's out right now.

Just think,10,15 years from today,people will think the music from 2006 was way better then what's new on the radio.

BTW,I didn't mean your getting crappy,I meant your taste in music is changing.And that's "a good thing".
