What is the "scene" style and how does it differ from "emo"?

I'm just curious because I have an interest in defining cultural aspects and psychology. I see all these teenagers acting "cool" or attempting. They seem to be angry at life with an attitude, not caring what others think or putting up that front. Try to answer my question with best effort, detail, experience along with the addition questions:

What defines YOU do be scene?

Is it beyond the physical appearance (hair style, clothing) or is their personality?

Is this different from "emo" and WHY?

Anything else will help too...

What is the "scene" style and how does it differ from "emo"?

I'm not sure how well I'm going to answer your questions, but I've been researching these subcultures for some time. I'm going to pass on some of the things I've found and you can interpret them how you want. I've found that the reason they look the same is that a) I believe scene formed from the Emo joke of "scene points" and b) the fact that the media has blurred the images. I have no clue how in-depth you want this, but seeing that you "have an interest in defining cultural aspects and psychology", I'm hoping you want some in-depth stuff.

What is the "scene" style and how does it differ from "emo"?

Scene is the colourful version of Emo.

Edit: Okay i was lazy... untill i saw the answer from the girl below. Wtf is "sense" and what do you mean by more "settle"?

Oh goodness.

Okay well scene people are stereotypically more "cheerful" than the perception of an average "emo" kid. Like I said, they are more colourful. More out going and creative. It's like splashing a B%26amp;W picture with paint, making it more lively and imaginative.

What is the "scene" style and how does it differ from "emo"?

it's in the same catorgoery really. sense is kinda more settle then emo..it's more punk.

What is the "scene" style and how does it differ from "emo"?

individuals go thru this acting because their true life is more boring so they pretend to have a different lifestyle and that way they will be recognized in some way wether its "emo" or that "scene" or whatever mumbo jumbo people come up with.

And also is a self esteem issue because these people, like you said try to be as if they don't care but in fact they do and are afraid to let it show. hope this helps.

What is the "scene" style and how does it differ from "emo"?

Scenes are less delicate emos with a larger color pallet.

Ok, but simplifications aside, scene relies much more on image than most other stereotypes. Actually, is more like a style.

Emo is more complicated i think. It includes a characteristic personality traits. I guess it would be easy to find more info and classic traits for these on Google.

What is the "scene" style and how does it differ from "emo"?

what defines me to be "sence" is the world, society, people, government, world, and other issues that do not consern me but i would take an immediate action to change them. "emo" is just a term for a stereotype person who just wants to act like everything in his/or her life is horrible but when you look at the facts it isn't. other pepople on the other hand like me don't do physical appereance unless it seperates us from the "crowed" or "society". we count the worlds problems as our own because as you can see, no ones doing anything about it or to change it. we see the world as a horrible place because once you look at the facts it is...you look at life you see the same thing so pretty much we have a hateful attitude twards life. We don't care about what others think because there are bigger problems to think about other then ignorance in people.

theres no exact definition to this behavior but as i see it, its always been my way of life....and sooner or later i will change life...along with the world..
