Find a salon that does Japanese Hair Straightening. My girlfriend lives in Newport and got it down in the OC and it looked stick straight very healthy and lasted a long time.
Just make sure to get before and after pictures to make sure the salon you go to knows what they are doing.
Good Luck!

Look into a cosmotology university in your area (Chic University). They are usually pretty well prices and they have 2 or 3 professionals checking and rechecking your hair while the student is doing it.

if u go to a salon they can give u all the info u need on this chemical treatment that straightens ur hair... it last about 6-12 months, but it can be expensive... here's a link about it:

Ok...first off i would recommend the CHI straightning iron if you havent tried it yet. This is unlike most irons because it actually smooths the hair within seconds and only needs done once. I'm not sure about chemically straightening the hair....that could be quite damaging in the long run

ok.. a dude straightening his hair...gross..but u can get it chemically done and it will last for up to a year. there r different treatments. there is a 6 mnth one and otheres so the prices vary. $100 is normal.

I agree 100% with Nicole, the CHI hair straightener works wonders. I would not recommend chemically straightening your already-coarse hair, because the chemicals often cause more coarseness than straightness. Try using straightening creams or sprays before using a CERAMIC flat iron (never use metal!) Hope I've been of some help :)

you are going to have to go to a professional to get it done...and the price will vary depending on where you go. But a lot of times, the ones you may think charge too much, are the ones who charge that much cause they are just that good. I have an amazing stylist, and he recommends the Chi brand chemical straigtener, and i think he said it would be around 70 bucks to do it for me. I have curly hair too, but I'm ok with a straightener for now. Just make sure you go to someone reputable, and don't expect miracles...If your hair is really as curly as you say, it may just take you to wavy. Also, if you talk to a stylist, they will be able to suggest a certain type of cut to go along with the treatment to maximize results, such as thinning your hair out or using certain layering techniques or "under cutting".

IF YOU WANT REAL STRAIGHT, USE HOT BUMPERS (STRAIGHTING PULLING OF HAIR, WITH HEAT) THEN USE THE PRODUCT DAX THE PINK JAR SAYS FOR CURLING IRON, BUT IT ALSO WORKS WITH STRAIGHTENING, BUMPERS.

I speak from experience here with a similar hair type. Chemically straightening my hair was the best thing I've ever done with my hair. But the catch is that it's expensive, and you definitley get what you pay for. Absolutely do NOT try to cheap out on it. You want to seek a professional stylist who has a lot of experience and knows what they're doing. Some salons have straightening treatments that can be extremely damaging to your hair. So the solution is to seek out the more high end salons. It's going to cost you around $300. But you only have to get it done twice a year, so I really think it's worth it. and you save your hair in the long run--you dont have to subject it to days and days of ironing it. you just walk out of the shower and it's good to go. It's amazing. =)
So, it's basically up to you and how much you're willing to spend on you hair.
