I have short hair, about 3 inches from my shoulders but i want to get an 'emo' cut and cannot find a style that would be short enough so if you could attach pictures it would be fantastic. Also i have naturally red hair and have never dyed it so am looking at what colour/s i should put in it and how. Please help me!!!

Highlight it slightly or whatever yes, but don't dye it a drastic colour, esp. black!
In about 3-4 weeks you'll have roots, and black or dark hair with red roots is bad bad news. Embrace the red!

the best thing you can do is type into google or your prefered search engine "short haircut styles" and it will show you a list of websites you can check out or you could search in goole images too...
if this is your first time dying your hair you should defo get it done in a hair dressers. blondes always look really well in red hair.. and it can tone the redness down too..
id stay away from dark brownes.. if your anything like my brother (who has the redest hair ive ever seen), you will have quite pale skin and burn very easily in the sun so thats y im saying to avoid dark browns cos it will just make you look even paler and washed out! stick to coppers and blondes and really light brown tones!

i THINK SHOULDER LENGHT IS NICE... IF YOU WANT SOME MORE VOLUME YOU MIGHT WANT TO GET SHORT LAYERS AT THE BOTTOM AND... RED WOULD LOOK GOOD ON YOU SINCE YOU ARE A NATURAL RED BUT YOU MIGHT WANT TO SPICE IT UP WITH SOME HIGH LIGHTS IN BLONDE! TRY SOME ON TOP IF YOU LIKE HOW THEY LOOK MAYBE LATER YOU COULD HI LIGHT YOU WHOLE HAIR... GOOD LUCK
