Is it right to dress up in emo/goth attire at church?

I'm a strong christian, and go to church regularly. I do wonder though, if it is right to go to church wearing tightpants, shirts, colored and straightened hair, and spicky belts (I'm a boy btw). I'm not saying because you look emo, you act or follow the moral and spiritual acts, like acting depressed. But sometimes that look is cool and you want to dress like it, but not act like it. So back to the original question, is it right to go to church looking like that?

It's not suppose to matter what we wear to church as long as we desire to live a Christian life every day and not just Sundays! As long as you are living for God and you desire to worship to His liking, wear whatever.

Do pray to God, and if He's ok with it, then that's the important thing. It's not up to us who can wear what and not wear in God's houses of worship.

the way i figure it the Christian God is happy to see you in worship. his followers however? might take offence if you dressed that way. my mom is one who "women wear skirts or dresses to church and men boys wear suits". i hated it!!

i figure if you show up you get full credit. make sense? and if the other church goers don't like it or get funky bout it? well, then they need to check their NON Christian worldy attitudes at the door!! as long as your clean and don't stink and your clothes are clean then i personaly do not see an issue.

as for me...as long as you look presentable in front of god and your intention is to listen to his words....then yes....but if your intention is just for people to look at you and talk about you...better make up your mind...its the house of god remember....

In my opinion, God doesn't care what you wear to Church, as long as you go.

Unless, of course, you are wearing something offensive, like a shirt with curse words on it or a speedo. Even if God doesn't care, that's still disrespectful.

Depends on how relaxed/contemporary your church is. One of the reasons I dont go to church is because everyone is too focused on how everyone else looks rather than whats inside their hearts (the desire to worship God). Maybe you shouldnt go all out in your goth attire (perhaps leave the spikey belt at home) but you should be able to be yourself and if you cant, then maybe you should look for a different place of worship.

Theoretically the you should be accepted in church no matter who you are or what you are wearing, and in the eyes of God you are. The only thing is, depending on your Church members, you might be criticized by your religious peers. As long as you don't mind what they might say, what you wear doesn't matter.
